FAQ
I am a fully paid PowerStitch customer. Why do I see the Pay As You Go message while working on a design?
PowerStitch assumes that if you do not have a security device attached to your computer that you must be a Pay As You Go customer and presents you with the dialog that explains the different aspects of the Pay As You Go service. If you have a security device and see this message it means that PowerStitch, after repeated attempts, was not able to communicate with your security device. This occasionally occurs when using the iMate USB to ADB adapter on newer macs that don't have an ADB port. To resolve this check these things:
- Make sure that the security device is securely connected to the iMate and that the iMate, with security device, was connected before starting PowerStitch.
- Make sure you have the latest iMate driver from Griffin Technologies.
- Be sure that the security device was attached to the iMate before the iMate was plugged into the computer. Never unplug the security device from the iMate while it's plugged into the computer.
- Plug the iMate directly into the computer. NOT into the keyboard or a hub.
- If you are still having problems, the iMate control panel can be adjusted for greater tolerance. Try adjusting the "Compatibility" slider so that the "Listen Delay" is between 22 and 25.
- You can also try deleting the "PowerStitch Prefs" file before running PowerStitch. This will force PowerStitch to ask for your serial number again and reset basic settings to their defaults.
- You can find the "PowerStitch Prefs" file in your "Preferences" folder which is located inside your "System Folder"
